I'm looking for a new amp, and someone from TGP recommended the z28 and sent me over here.
Currently, I've got a Mesa mkv:25,but it's not doing it for me.
I used a black faced/plexified bassman and hotrod deluxe for years as pedal platforms. They did the trick, but are too loud for someone who plays mostly at home and occasional gigs now.
My music ranges from alt-country to jazzish/Blues, to rock.
I need something with a good master volume that takes drive and fuzz pedals well. I like delays and reverbs as well, so I've tended toward amps with loops because delay doesn't always sound great into the front.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The Z-28 MKII is a really nice amp with an excellent master volume. I haven’t played it with pedals, but it’s renowned for that. It doesn’t have a loop though. The MAZ18 MKII has both a loop and master. It is also a very flexible amp in terms of the sounds it can generate. The NR version has a bit more gain due to the removal of reverb. I like using delay in the loop as well.
I have a Z-Plus at home. It’s an excellent lower powered amp and has a loop and master. I don’t gig, so I can’t answer that question, but it takes pedals well. I run a Wampler Faux Tape Echo in the loop. All my other gain stages, chorus, flange and another delay are in front. I also run this with my Carmen Ghia in a wet/dry combination. It’s glorious.

I would strongly recommend a Jetta for your needs.

I would strongly recommend a Jetta for your needs. Ditto. Jetta is easy to dial in with volume and tone controls. Combine with a loop and a master volume to control the overall SPL and you're there.

Welcome to the Forum! A lot of great people and information here. You might want to look at the M12. It was designed specifically as a pedal platform. Here's part of the description from Doc's write-up on the M12.
"The Dr Z M12 gives you big tone and clean headroom with 12 watts of power. Designed with the pedal board player in mind, the EF86 front end will devour your pedals and make them sound like they are built into the amp. The M12 will become an essential tool for players that love their pedals as much as their guitars and amps. The simple tone stack gets out of the way and lets your pedals do their thing."
While it doesn't have a MV, at 12 watts you might not need it. There's also the Brakelite which works very well. As an added benefit, the M12 can be found for under $1,200 dollars (and I've seen them go as low as $800. Here's a pretty good demo:
And a second one:
