Wow, I checked this section and looks like I bought this one in Feb 2008 (my first Z). My amps don't get the attention they should and need to come out and play more. So, I decided to pluck each one off the shelf, give a little cleaning & Deoxit, etc. and keep them out for a while to play. I love the Rx Jr. There's something about the noiseless Strat pickups that just give the top end a nice, bell-like quality. I have some other great guitars but the lack of hum, etc. is just pleasing around the house. This one is Rx Jr and 212 w/Blues and likely one of the cleanest 16 year old examples you'll ever find (I should be a little embarrassed at that, but I'm not ). She's still a beauty, Doc.

Keith, you're reminding me that I need to relocate my Rx ES into the loud room. Right now it's tucked into an inaccessible corner of the gear locker. I meant to move it after hearing Mike's (non ES) Rx at MI mini Z Fest. PS: how about a sound clip?

PS: how about a sound clip? I’m not sure he world is ready for that. Maybe I’ll cobble together a short one.

On a trip to Nashville maybe 15 years ago, my wife and I visited Rock Block Music. They had a Red (KeithA) model Rx Jr head there. I played it a bit, loved it, and brought it home to sit with my Z 28 and Maz 18 heads. Once I was able to play it with the band I was in at outdoor volume I quickly found out how LOUD this amp was. I loved it's sound of the EF86 (just like my 28) but I could never use it in the way it needed to be pushed so I let it go. But I still love that Rx sound - another Z classic amplifier.
