Good day!
My Vibro Champ Tremolo quit working. Otherwise it works fine, sounds normal. Thoughts? Switch out V2?

That’s a good place to start. Make sure you know its a good 12AX7 first.

Good day! My Vibro Champ Tremolo quit working. Otherwise it works fine, sounds normal. Thoughts? Switch out V2? It might be the oscillator component. The Roach I haven't looked at the schematic, but if the Tremelo is not working then the component that creates the oscillation is probably toast.

That's interesting, I didn't realize they were getting the warble out of the tube. Another day of learning

Tubes and connections are always the first suspects, but after those, take a look at the caps in the tremolo circuit. Even ceramics, especially ceramics from this era, fail.

That's interesting, I didn't realize they were getting the warble out of the tube. Bias tremolo. Also used in Princeton Reverbs, brown Deluxes, and a lot of other classics. Any Dr. Zs? it's a great sound!

Any Dr. Zs? it's a great sound! Bias tremolo in Princetons and Brown Deluxe amps affects the bias of the power tubes. This is similar but for a preamp tube. The tremolo circuit is connected to the cathode of the last preamp tube.

Well, I switched out the tube and it's all better!! Thanks everyone for your input.
It's a reminder of how unique and cool the members of the Z Forum are.

I’ve built four but the Ghia and Z-Plus are a level or two above what I built.
