With myself. I love the Z28 and I don’t think I can live without an Early Black Panel Z28.

The funny thing is Doc’s not sure how man “Gold Panels” were made. Between 70-100, and the CAT graphic was introduced during the “Gold Panel” run. My #0070 is a Gold Panel with the CAT graphic. Ok so the search begins, I’ll put the listing up this weekend and get to work.

Can you put up a picture of an “early black panel” so we know what that is?

Most likely looks exactly like most MK1’s, but I would guess that they will have the wooden rear tube protector instead of the full back , serial # around or under 100. Guessing 2003? I’ll look tonight at the year of production #0070 is.

Dave what’s the serial # of your 4x10? My friend has a Gold Panel 4x10, I’ve pm him for his #. I don't have a 4x10, I've got Z28 MKII S/N "Proto 2". It came with a 12" Cream Alnico, and I believe it's the sister amp of the one that Brad Paisley got. It's very close to a production MKII, but it's got an effects loop and it's a little different in the front end. It's got a little more gain.
I also have a production MKII that's loaded with the factory Creamback.

#0070 is a M Serial #. So an M Serial # Black Panel Z28 is what I’m looking for.

My blonde Z28 is still a favorite- can’t think of it ever going any where else
Let it go once and it came back.
3 o’clock all dials with a 210 cab and a dual ‘ bucker guitar … ride the volume and enjoy!
Cheers always

I always out myself by saying that I dislike the 333 setting and the Celestion Gold. 🫣
The search for an early Black Panel is on!

I have a 2x10 pine cab, floating Baltic birch baffle with Eminence Legend 1028K's that sound magical on that setting(and most other settings!)

The best tone I ever had was a 1-10 Z-28 on 3-3-3 and a SG.
