Hi All,
Can anyone please recommend a good Y cable (Male 1/4" to two 1/4" Female) that is speaker level (~12 gauge)? They are hard to find. The only one I found so far is about $~50 which seems high for such a basic thing. I can make my own but would rather not have to bother.
Application: 5 Watt tube amp out tha tfem. jack to two (2) mono 8 ohm speakers in separate cabs.
I have a solid plastic Y (no cable) which might work, but I not sure what it is rated for.
In case I am looking at this the wrong way- are there any other connections you all can recommend e.g., use a mixer, splitter or something I am missing?
Thanks!

Our own member Todd at PCNS cables (pcns here on the forum) can fix you up. His service and product is among, if not, the best. procablesnsound.com/PCNS_Main.aspI’m sure he will chime in here. I own, as do many others here, what you seek in addition to several other of his cable offerings. If you don’t see it ask him. If he can make it, he will.

Another +1 to Todd/PCNS if you need anything regarding cables or pickups. If you go for a speaker y cable, consider getting a straight jack from the amp and maybe a little more fan out length than you think you need. They are really heavy duty and because of the sheer bulk of the cable, the right angle plug to the amp can pretty congested, partly because the speaker outs of the amp are recessed. Maybe think straight jacks in and out and a 12" fan if you are thinking a small cable. He will also do basically anything you can dream up including putting your name on the cabl, let alone custom snakes for whatever. They are very professionally done, and he's a great guy to boot. Win win.

THANK YOU everyone. They do look like amazing cables and I was close to going for it. Ultimately however I decided to make my own. I bought 14 gauge OFC stranded cable and very high quality connectors. After struggling with my iron (never got above 125F), I even sprung for a new Weller 40 watt iron. One tip I will share is buy a laser heat detector gun- the red dot type. I find uses for this all the time from HVAC, to soldering irons, and more. They only cost ~$20. Super practical.
I admit that "my Y cable project" will not turn out quite as nice as the recommended cable. It will also still end up costing me about the same money. My logic is that in addition to the new Y, I will end up with a nice new iron, leftover materials, flux, rosin, solder iron, and 95 feet of extra 14 gauge wire- for those random projects that seem to come up. If I was a touring pro (I am not), I would definitely buy the pro level Y connector.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREAT ADVICE TIPS! It was much appreciated.

Thanks Made-Man. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Not sure I deserve it but I will try. I learn by my mistakes. Today, I wasted money on 1 foot of 12 gauge that I could not fit in my 1/4" connector- let alone two of them to make the Y. Ordered larger size Male 1/4". Bought extra solder I did not need- learned the issue is that my soldering iron (tip) does not get much hotter than my shower...unless, like a genius you try to guide it more precisely by grabbing the barrel- when it is 300F. Yep, that was me. Ouch. Two key fretting fingers are officially out of commission for about a week. Blisters are fun. Cold water and my Aloe (plant) is are my new friends...as I type with one hand, left hand literally in a bowl of 59F H20. I am making my own speaker cabinet too. Hopefully I don't lose any digits in that process!

I'm sure they are great- but so can be the satisfaction of taking your time, learning and doing things yourself.
I will about break even on the first Y cable, but if I need more cables, need to solder my speaker in the box and to the jack (I do), investing in the iron and developing these skills could come in handy. "Buy someone a fish...eat for a day. Teach them how to fish, they eat for a lifetime." Still, I get it- Pro cables do look amazing!
Thanks for all the tips!

or .... Buy someone a fish, they eat for a day. Teach someone to fish, and they spend a fortune on rods, reels, clothes, a boat, fishing license, trips to Cabo, Michigan and Florida, bait, and "the one that got away." Always good to have some soldering skills if you own electric instruments and amps. Keep Todd's info handy (I solder a lot of stuff, but still buy from Todd).
