I have a pal with an older Jr w/ reverb. The amp hums noticeably, but as the Cut is increased, the hum reduces. I'm thinking an issue in the tone circuit, but am open to ideas. Thanks.

Have you tried a different set of power tubes or a different phase inverter tube?

I haven't tried new tubes yet, but tonight will assemble a set of spares to test with.

I have a similar issue with Max 18 jr w/reverb, combo 2z10 built in Nov 2011, all original tubes. Did you manage to resolve the amp hum?

According to Doc, Maz Jr's are a little hard on power tubes, so after 12 years...it's probably time for a new set.

MK I MAZ's can be a little noisier than the MK II, but yes, if it's HUM then it's very likely power tube drift and those tubes would be toast by now. If it's more a hiss, that's a different issue. Either way, consider sending yours in and Don can take care of any gremlins it's developed on top of giving it an update.
