Got my 1st Maz and tried it at band practice last night. Even with cut at noon bass at 9, gain at noon and mids dimed it really had no upper chime I was counting on. Using an Anderson Tele. I kept looking for something I was missing. When I brought gain up past noon it got darker in a bad way 112 cab with greenback. What am I missing

Is it an open back or closed back cabinet? An open back cabinet will accentuate mid range, and the amp is voiced more for an open back. The cut will add more chime back into the amp. Gain past noon will increase compression and attenuate high end and low end as the dynamic range gets compressed.

Increasing compression and suppressing highs is never good in a mix. Ok, thanks!
