A few years ago, I had 13's on all my acoustics except for one (which had 12's)
Eventually, I moved everything else down to 12's except for my Martin dread....that I kept on 13's. Big, loud and bassy.
I've gone through a several month phase (maybe 9 months?) where I didn't play the dread with the 13's. But last week I pulled the dread out, put a new set of 13's on it. Yikes, it's harder to play. There are certain chords that are more difficult to keep downward pressure. I'll be going down to 12's on this guitar too. Problem is, I have 11 sets of 13's remaining.

I’ve always played 12s on my Taylors. Try selling the 13s.

John, Sounds like you'll be giving away sets of 13's on Ztalk for Christmas. i have .10's on my D28. That's enough for me.

Good for you. I tried a few times over the past year to drop to 12s on my Martin HD-28V, but couldn’t warm to the sound or feel. I thought I was almost there a few times only to say ‘no’. I tried a few different brands and types.
Enjoy it. Your fingers and style will say ‘cool’.

Almost always been a standard set of phosphor-bronze 12's for me. Over the years, a few times I would think that I've earned my "big boy pants" and would put 13's on my dreadnought. That's when I would learn that yeah of course they sound cool & bold, but no way am I built for this as a casual acoustic player.
