I have a Maz 38 SR Reverb that I got from someone recently. I’ve been playing it quite a bit in my indie rock band here in Richmond VA and get lots of tone compliments, even when it’s full on fuzz and delay.
I have scoured the internet and cannot find another Maz 38 that looks like it. Serial is 0-5489, it is blonde but has a maple (I think) front fascia with the silver Z on it. It also has a Weber Alnico Silver Bell 12a~16~15w. The owner said it was custom ordered from Z and that the speaker is original but I have my doubts. The guts seem stock Z. I wish the forum let me post pics. Does anyone seen these?
I really like it. My band mate plays a 64 Vibroverb that cuts through a little more but he also uses a tube screamer. I’m still figuring my Z out but want to make sure mine is real.

Welcome to the forum!
We had a forum member, Harvey, who is a woodworker and used to provide exotic wood "valances" for Z amps. That may be where the non-stock front came from.
Others here have way more knowledge than me, but I don't recall Z making custom ordered amps. Someone else chime in please.

Wow, I’ve never seen valances with the Z painted on like that (4th picture down). What is the smaller amp on top? Interesting.

If you don't do photo bucket or a hosting site like that, you can use Reverb. Make a draft listing with the photo and you can then "copy imagine address". Then use the icon with the framed photo and insert the link. We would love to see your amp.

Back in the Day Z did offer custom wood fronts and Weber speakers were an option.

What is the smaller amp on top? Interesting. Likely a very-early Carmen Ghia. If I'm not mistaken, he did offer a master volume on them way back in the day, which would explain the third knob.

I made a valance for a 1x12 combo cab out out of figured maple and it turned out pretty well for the first go at it. Unfortunately I don't seem to have a way to post it here, but if anyone wants to see it (or post it) I can email it to you.
It is not hard to make. The tolex valance can be separated from the front with a little effort in order to trace a template. Then I used a small table saw, a jigsaw and a router to cut it to match. I sprayed it with a little lacquer or poly (can't remember which) to make the grain pop and shine.
