So my MAZ38 reverb tank is causing problems. Turned on the amp and had no output. Tapping the top of the amp (which I just happened to do accidentally while trying to turn it around) caused a pronounced reverb echo. Replaced the tubes with no change. Then I thought it might be the reverb tank. Jumpered the RCA send to the return bypassing the reverb and output is restored.
I have two questions:
1. Any ideas what would have caused the tank to go out? Is it as simple as just replacing the tank?
2. Is it safe for the amp to just use it with the jumper in place bypassing the reverb tank?
Thanks!! John

Make sure your reverb cables are good. Sounds like the return is fine if you get the reverb splash when you shake the amp.
