Like many of us on here I thought I needed something different and sold my Maz18jr and Z28 (absolute KILLER combo!) for a Marshall type amp. I am way more of a blues type player and always regretted doing that. Then I saw the Z28MKII and immediately sold my DS-40. Since it is going to take a little time to build it and I had every intention of getting a MAZ again I came across a good deal on a Ghia and jumped on it. I always wanted to try one after seeing Dean Parks use one. I figure if it does not sit as well with the Z28MkII then I will have to keep that and buy a 3rd Z. Poor me. There is just something special about these amps, the way they cut through the mix (and I get "your playing too loud" when its really "I can hear you better than the other guys"). No other amp I have owned did it so well. So Doc I hope you forgive me for leaving you but at my tender age of 58 I am sticking it out this time. I learned my lesson! Now I wait patiently for my Sweetwater order. Funny I found one on Reverb immediately after purchasing the Ghia but I decided to wait. I will be lucky if the Ghia shows up in one piece this time of year.

Holy crap this thing is LOUD! Tried a TS in front YUK! MI Audio crunch box, better but shrill at times, Boss DS1, better. But the volume is a concern (especially since I developed tinitus). I hate attenuators so this may be going in for a MV upgrade. I don't see how I can its full potential otherwise. Gotta have the grind in there at reasonable volumes. I am sure I will find some great solutions on here. Already tired my Weber C1225, Celestion V30 and G12H. My old Z28 was the same way, had to keep the volume at 8-9 oclock and boost it with something. New Z28 MKII on its way!
