I love this amp with my Telecasters, but I recently stumbled into an amazing Murphy '57 Junior. This thing kills into the Jr. I only had the two Telecasters while owning this amp and was pretty content. I have owned a few Juniors over the years including an original '58 SC and have been waiting for the right one. I had an early VOS Jr a long time ago and it was amazing, but the neck was insane. Lots and lots of gigs but eventually sold it. This Murphy has a big- ish neck but totally playable/realistic IMHO. I think I'm going on a year with the Z, and I still get that smile when I fire it up and grab a Tele. Now I get the same with the Junior! The only other amp that consistently gave me that smile was the original 65 Amps London and that amp was magic with that VOS Junior. Every gig I would flip the standby off and there it was, just like the Dr Z is now.
Anyhow, I'm blessed to own some amazing gear!

I recently acquired a Hauer Daylighter Junior. It's basically a Les Paul Junior (24-3/4" scale, 1 P90, set neck, wrap tail) that's shaped like a Fender Jazzmaster. It has a Wolfetone Meaner P90 in it and it sounds great through my Z Wreck Jr!
Every now and then I need a reminder about how much I like my gear!

This is very timely for me as I have been using my Les Paul Junior (a BJA model in my case) exclusively with my wreck at rehearsals, and this rig is killing it! I switched out the oem H90 stacked pickup that this model comes with for a more traditional sounding P90 from Shed pickups, and it absolutely rocks through the Wreck!
I’m playing in a Nirvana covers band at the moment and I’ve settled on using my Junior, as my Tele doesn’t quite get thick and dirty enough, and my Les Paul isn’t tight sounding enough for the dropped D tunes. By just plugging my Junior into the amp with the gain at noon and master volume around 2 o’clock, the distorted sound is absolutely amazing, no boost pedals needed here. Nirvana songs have plenty of loud/quiet/loud sections, so the clean up ability of the wreck is really coming into play here. I can turn down the volume in my guitar to ‘5’ and get that good-enough-for-live clean and then back up to 10 for full on distortion again.
The Wreck maybe known for it’s fantastic biting and twangy Telecaster pairing ability, but man this thing can rock it up when pushed, and a P90 equipped guitar is just so much fun to play through it and comes highly recommended as you’ve also experienced!

This one will have the purists scratching their eyes out! Is that a 4010 Marshall Don? I had one in the mid-80's. Wish I still had it!

This one will have the purists scratching their eyes out! Is that a 4010 Marshall Don? I had one in the mid-80's. Wish I still had it! Yes! It's a 1982 JCM 800 4010 50 watt master volume 1x12" combo. I bought this one from the original owner a couple of years ago. It was in great shape but needed servicing- tubes, biasing, electrolytic caps, cleaning...). I do that work myself, so it was a great deal. These earlier 50 watt combos (until some time in '82) had lower b+ voltage (about 365v, compared to over 450v), so they're a little "browner" sounding and "squishier" feeling. Plus, it has the original great sounding Celestion G12-65 speaker. Surprisingly, the low input has a great clean sound that works well with overdrive pedals. It's a great blues rock amp. If I had known how great it'd be, I would've bought one 40 years ago!
