I've been wanting to get my Lux in my rock band, but I've had alot of tube issues with it. I finally re-tubed the whole thing and it came back to life. It's just a incredible sounding amp. I told the band that I would start using it instead of my Cure. They got concerned! The singer said, "You're messing with that Bruiser Sound". "Bruiser" was a nick-name that a friend of my parents called me when I was little. My mom told that story to Al, our singer, and now I can't shake the name! lol
I told them to not worry because they would love the sound of the Lux, and they did! The Lux is great and will be the center piece of our sound.
We'll start gigging in a month or so.

It is a magnificent amp. Have you had yours updated? (I have not so far.)

I had an older model that I had updated to the latest specs. One of the options to was the black face/silver face mod. Silver is standard Lux, and the Black face softens the amp. More vintage I guess.

Lux is my main amp for rock or just about everything. It’s so versatile and has a great base tone for almost every genre. I use pedals to get my overdrive. Don’t need many, I use a Tumnus as a clan boost, Tumnus deluxe for more drive and finally a Gain changer. Need more just stack them.
Sometimes it will feel thin for whatever reason, that’s when I use the EQ bypass. Not to push the amp but to get the EQ out of the way. Fattens it up nicely, thanks to Buddy for that idea! I’ve had it on for full rock gigs.
I like the update for a few reasons. One of the main reasons is it allows me to use the verb/trem pedal without any noise. No matter what I did it was always noisy. I stopped using it (foot switch) because I could still have the verb but missed the Trem.

Now all you need is to have PCNS Todd wind you some custom humbuckers. You could call them....wait for it....
