I got sucked into this 3-part series on Netflix. It was really well done, this is what journalism often fails to be. This was my generation. I was not there, and didn't take note much until the reports that started coming out the last night. Yet, I had no idea how deep the crap got until watching this. I'm saddened and disgusted at how my peers acted. Makes me grateful for the largely positive college experience I had at a large school. Yet trying my hardest to stay connected with high school friends that went a different way over those years leaves me shocked, but unsurprised by what went down. But I'm left to wonder, how did John Scher get off so untouched??? That dude got a lot of my money over the years. "John Scher Presents..." so often brought me some amazing memories. While not letting the ticket buyers off the hook for responsibility the producers and a generation of executives that turned the music industry from what it meant to them in 1969 to what it was in 1999 is something that Lang nor Scher want any responsibility for. It's disgusting. Trainwreck. Got me mad. Left my jaw dropped at times (literally). Pissed me off. Left me profoundly sad. Will leave me thinking for days. While I don't think the producers can claim no agenda or bias in what they presented, I applaud them for making the kind of documentary that can touch these sorts of reactions. Definitely not for everyone.

Funny, I just today read several reviews. I’m not sure that I want to invest the time to watch it and absorb all of that behavior. It’s younger than me, but I have memories of altimont… which I was too young for. I want to believe that people are generally good. Actually, I kind of need to believe that.

I want to believe that people are generally good. Then for damn sure don’t watch it. All you’ll learn is that people are basically animals and the moment you take away the veneer of civilization (and law enforcement) it’s Lord of the Flies. Oh, and greed — lots and lots of greed.

Doesn't sound particularly appealing to my tastes...
