Just pulled the trigger on this 12-string from Chicago Music Exchange (one of the few places that had them in stock). Been wanting a 12 string, but as it will see somewhat limited use could not justify a Ricky 330 or 360. This review put it over the top for me since I was looking at all 3 of the guitars reviewed (and it’s a great review, including hearing the guitars in a mix): I’ll report back as soon as it gets here and I put it through its paces.

Sweet! I tried one and really liked it a couple years ago , and hear great things about them.

I've been playing 12 strings since the 70's. Better have a tuner handy! (ha ha)
Looking forward to some pictures.

I love the sounds of 12 strings. Here's a shot of my 335s - the 12 string is from 1966. The 12 string is on the left (obviously), the center is the Clapton 335, and the 335 on the right is another 1966 with vibrato bar.

I wonder why an Italia Rimini was not included in this shootout. Eric Johnson seems to like his. I have one and it sounds very Rick-like but plays easier due to the neck being slightly wider and is about 1/3 the cost . Maybe they are harder to find but I think worth the search.

That’s a nice looking/sounding guitar. There are lots of 12 strings out there, I guess he just picked the “gold standard” (Ricky) and a couple others. I was happy because the ones he picked were the guitars I was considering (well, the Ricky was more of a dream than a consideration). I’ve not heard of Italia and they didn’t pop up in my search.
Used the Gretsch at band practice and it sounded great in the mix. Did exactly what I was hoping for — fattened up the songs where there are no guitar leads and I’m just playing rhythm (we’re a 4 piece, guitar, keys, bass, drums).
