I play a lot of jazz, but also classic rock and 80s stuff, along with some Brazilian pop type stuff. I live in a small apartment in nyc. Im looking to sell my vintage Princeton. On paper, the Jetta looks amazing, but I keep looking at YouTube, where most of the tones are sorry of grainy and mean. I would imagine this amp could do really nice jazzy cleans and also liquid higher gain solos. All the demos seem to be in that in between, where I lie at the outskirts. Any ideas. The Cure could also be a contender. I love the Princeton I have, but it's time for a change

Jetta does great cleans. Lots of headroom and clarity. Not a bus load of gain on tap. You can definitely get into classic rock territory. If you want super compressed grind Marshall territory, you'll want a pedal in front. It takes pedals like a champion. It's currently my preference for small pedal platform.
Cure will fit the bill as well. Less headroom and more Fender ish.... maybe a little more gain on tap. I don't consider either high gain amps tho.
Jetta has more of a neutral sound. More of a blank slate imo.
I love them both!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking more for sweet cleans than gain. I'd love to hear some samples. I heard Ike 15 seconds from the sweetwater demo. Clean sounded great for that long. Then back to harder sounds

If I have time, I'll put up a quick YouTube vid this weekend. I'm not set up for recording so it'll just be phone audio.

There are more videos with clean and max gain of the Jetta on YouTube. Right now the Jetta max volume and tone, master to room or venue is my go to amp, with my Les Paul Junior,(using volume, tone and pick attack on the Junior to control everything, I would say the most organic combo I have, and highly recommend it

Good news. Where are my clips?? Lol. Just joking Well I clearly don't know how to record a video or audio.... it's the wrong way and backwards and there is no low end. But the playing...... the playing I have no excuse (other then it's dinner time and I want tacos)! Hopefully you can at least hear how it acts, the clean hi fi qualities, and how it really jams with pedals.

I love the Princeton I have, but it's time for a change the Jetta is based upon an Ampeg design, and Ampegs were marketed for Jazz and Country players primarily - clean & warm. the Jetta's a great amp and should be perfect for jazz... and so much more

Thanks for the clips Spencer. The Ghia is my only amp in my music room, love that amp . You can hear every nuance of each guitar you plug in .
