Well I'm getting close to throwing down on another Z and my head is swimming around between a couple models. All things considered, I seem to be be going back to Z wreck Jr. The feedback on all Z product here had been great.
I always loved the chewy midrange sound of a pushed vox with a gainy overdrive on top but I will not buy a vox. I've heard some good clips of the z wreck jr but all of them leave me speculating whether or not a tubescreamer or decent drive box with humbuckers in PRS is going to give me that warm, saturated singing lead tone. I dont play cleans very much other than classical guitar so really all I want from the Z is a warm, singing lead tone with some harmonic content and chewy midrange...like eating a pack of gum all at once. I've never much played lead guitar without an overdrive in the front of any of my amps...does anyone have any clips or recordings of tones like this from the z wreck jr?
It is a lot of money and there is no stock anywhere to actually try myself. I feel like I've exhausted my youtube searches. I've got no desire to play single coils or Fenders and didn't know who Brad Paisley was until I started reading about the Z Wrecks. I think his tone sounds good for him but I'm after a smoother, warmer lead tone...although not similar in sound, I like Brian May's lead tone...who doesnt...and a wet sounding Santana type sustain. If the Z wreck jr is supposed to be darker than maz 18 jr, am I thinking along the right lines?
Would anyone care to share some recordings?

Here's some humbucker lead tones, from a phone recording at a live show. A lot of overdriven tones with either a Cusack Screamer or Friedman BE-OD Deluxe on the heavier stuff. Feel free to scroll along for Tele tones..... Ignore all the slop (and new bassist mistakes)

Best example of what I want it to do for me, thanks! I'm going to have to watch it in entirety in some decent speakers.
