You might think I'm crazy, but I like the Z Wreck Jr best as a clean amp, using pedals for dirt! That's unusual for me- my amps are usually set at least a little dirty. I used a tweed Deluxe clone as my main amp for years, and my Cure is never set clean (neither is my Monza, but that goes without saying). What a nice clean sound!

I run my master wide open, set the gain to 9-11 and use pedals. I play mostly 90's country, a good clean sound is a must. This amp is perfect for my needs.

Last night I enjoyed the Z Wreck Jr as a dirty amp with my Les Paul! It could use two sets of controls that you can switch between. Sure, turning the guitar down cleans up the amp, and I've done that with other amps for many years, but it's a different clean.

Excellent idea. In fact I like things clean, and the dirt when I flip on the bridge pickup and dig into the strings.

There are so many great complex, detailed sounds from this amp! Clean, dirty, very dirty!

Pick attack is an incredibly powerful technique.

Pick attack is an incredibly powerful technique. It is! For years, my main amp was a pretty faithful tweed Deluxe clone. It's set dirty and I use the guitar's volume control and my pick attack to clean it up. When I get lazy, I use just pick control.
I do/did the same with a Budda Twinmaster (awesome amp, but too loud, so I sold it), Avatar 45 Watt (great master volume control, but often more amp than I want to lug around), tweed Champ clone... I guess with all of my good gritty amps!
My 3 Zs took what was great about all of those amps and made the sound usable with great master volume controls!
