Howdy,
I've owned 7 Rickenbackers and let them all get away. That was before my Carmen Ghia. Who among you have played a Rickenbacker 12 through their Carmen Ghia? I'm betting that it would easily be in the "Hard Day's Night" ballpark at lower volumes. Anyone?

I haven’t played a 12-string Rick though my Ghia, but my 6-string Rick 350v63 sounds wonderful through it. Just the other day as I was playing I thought to myself “this amp really does the Rickenbacker justice!” The attack and sustain that are part of the clean Rick sound really come through with the Ghia, with just the right amount of clean-but-not-sterile character from the amp. And even when playing with overdrive the Ghia holds it all together. I’m running the 2x10” combo and I believe that contributes to the clarity and responsiveness.
By comparison I have a tweed Deluxe clone. While it’s a great sounding amp, the Rick sounds less like a Rick through it. The Ghia can accurately channel the character of whatever guitar is plugged into it.
If you get a chance to try a Rick 12 through the Ghia let us know your findings!

In the very early days of DR.Z Amps, when I would attend Guitar Shows a unique thing would happen repeatedly . Prior to a Guitar Show opening up to the public venders would scour the booths looking to purchase or trade before the doors opened. Very often I would sell a couple of Ghia's I brought to venders and they wouldn't resell the Ghia's but use them to demo the guitars they were trying to sell. The pure accurate tones from the Ghia accentuated any guitar that was plugged in. Dealers would sell more guitars and have a great sounding Ghia to take home. Z

Z Z, what speaker did you use with the early Ghias?

Waiting for Frank (BritInvasion) to "chime" in here. He has the best Ricky 12 I've heard.
