I recently purchased a 2017 EMS. The chassis has masking tape on it that gives dates and says “amp house” Anyway, the black transformer has Paint that is crinkling. It has a texture like a water soaked sticker. It is only on the top half of one cover and the bottom half of the other cover. I’ve had no problems with the amp. At the moment I’m just chalking it up to the amp being rode hard and put up wet. So, The questions Is this something I should be concerned with? And What do y’all think the cause “could” be?
Thanks for the help. T

It’s possible it was that way from the beginning. I’ve found that before on new trannies. Seems like they had issues with some type of solvent or substance on the covers that interfered with the paint setting up properly. I think if the tranny was ever hot enough to damage the paint it would certainly fry the winding first and short the thing.
