I've been playing acoustic guitar with a long time friend and we want to do acoustic versions of classic rock songs. All of a sudden, he wanted to do Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. I said no problem. I have a Taylor T5 and I can use to do the solos.
Fast forward to now. I have been invited to play with a classic rock band, but as we are all older now, it's hard to get together and play. Yet, I started playing the Comfortably Numb solos on my Strat just to be ready. I've been using a Tumnis Deluxe and a Carbon Copy through my Z-Lux, which sounds good, but not like Gilmour.
So, I got my Wreck Jr out and hooked up my Line6 M5 which has a Big Muff in it. After some tweaking, I'm pretty amazed at the combination. I can pretty much nail the tone.
The Wreck was set V: noon, T: 1:00, Bass: 9:00, MV 10:00, and Cut: 1:00.
I've never been much of a fuzz guy, this setup sounds fantastic.

I like the Vick Audio 73 Ram's Head for those flavors. If you want a pedal for the job, this one sounds great through my EMS! Check it out if you're interested.
