Also, his YouTube video about setting up a strat “trem” assembly set me straight on that. He has some things up on truefire, as well. Definitely a fan forever here.

Great post! ‘Pure tone’ is right on. You inspired me to share a little more gratitude regarding a topic that I reflect on often… Without realizing it at the time, at 18 years of age, as my first “boutique” tube amp, Dr. Z’s Carmen Ghia permanently defined the “gold standard” for me about what a great guitar amp should sound and feel like… Now a quarter century later, and that still holds more true than ever. Beyond *just* designing and building amazing amps, it is especially cool that even given his business success over the past decades, amidst a world of skyrocketing inflation and diminishing quality on literally almost everything else in this world, Dr. Z has modestly kept his designs affordable, attainable, and second to none. I couldn’t be a bigger fan of Dr. Z, and his work; A living legend helping us realize our tonal dreams. Yeah, maybe I’m a nutty guitar player who gets a bit overly sentimental about it all, but for damn good reasons… Gotta share the love when and where you feel it in this ever-changing crazy world! Very sincerely, thank you Dr. Z. Happy jammin’ fellaZ!

Thanks guys for the complements, and especially Carl's post. Yes the Ghia is a pure amp and I have been building them virtually the same for 33 years and the demand for them is still high. I play mine every day , and love the pure rich tone that I can hear, and the subtle nuances I can detect from each different guitar that I plug in. I have had requests for Master Volume mods to the Ghia, and Don has done a few with nice success. But I will not alter or offer a MKII version the Carmen Ghia . Some things should be left alone .

Well said all!! The Ghia is a great amp! Sounds good in any situation. Don did the master volume mod for me and it works incredibly well. I couldn't be happier!
