I am thinking that I could use a good Tele. I like what I hear of the Jason Isbell model. Anyone try one? Opinions on good Teles?

I tried one at my local toy dealer, and I liked it. Without plugging it, it was light and resonant, and well set up. I also liked the feeling of the neck without the laquer. When I plugged it in, the results were even better. Sounds like a Tele, a good one. And the colour is really cool. If I didn’t have any Teles, I’m sure I’d be getting one, I think it’s also reasonably priced. Good luck with your tone quest! Tons of tone!

Last year when I was looking to buy a Tele I took a hard look at the Jason Isbell Tele and did like what I saw. I was listening to Shemekia Copelands Uncivil War CD a lot and really liked Jason's playing on it. I ended up getting an American Original '50s Tele instead, mainly because when I was looking there weren't any of the Jason Isbell's to be had. If there had been any available at the time I probably would have one.. I am really happy with the one I got though, it has became my go to electric. It is so much fun to play and it sounds wonderful through my Dr. Z amps!
