My Maz came to me having already been upgraded to the mkii and was in pristine condition. What I only recently realized was that at some point it also had it's reverb cable "upgraded" too. A previous owner switched out the stock rca for a fancy audiophile grade cable. Curious about what others think about this.
I've not heard this as anything folks really do, and while I know you're running your signal through that cable (I always have my amp reverb on) does this really make a difference inside a guitar combo? It seems to me that if it mattered much you would see that upgrade a bunch more.

I'm going to guess if you're into audiophile cables and can 'hear' the difference, then you may 'hear' your reverb better. I'm not an audiophile cable person. I would not hear any difference in a blindfold test. You could probably swap in a standard cable and then sell your audiophile cable for a few dollars on Reverb.com or Ebay.

The old reverb, prior to the Mk.II update, could be somewhat noisy when turned up.. Maybe they swapped the cable to help with the noise?

what cable is being used for the Reverb? We built a Reverb cable for someone on the forum before but I lost track of who I sent it too. We used a high quality Canare Star quad. It would Canare 4E6 on the jacket. I've heard both sides of this before though. Some swear by the upgrade others don't hear any difference. I tend to leave my Z amps alone. Dr Z designs great sounding, we'll grounded and very clean circuits. I can't see upgrading the Reverb cable doing much good for already clean circuit. I think the thing an upgraded cable may do is maybe provide better shielding if amp is noisy? I am using words like "maybe" and "may" on purpose because I don't have any evidence that they will actually help. I have used the Canre 4E6 cable before to clean up some noise problems I had in my home studio but I was addressing a specific problem with that cable and it helped a ton. Can't fix something that isn't broke though my 2 cents, Todd

Looking closer at the wire, it isn't marked and isn't that much bigger than normal wire. The connectors are definitely an upgrade. It could be that the amp was noisy prior to the mkii, but it isn't any more noisy than a solid state amp now. But it sure sounds a lot better!
