Hi there,
I’m looking into getting a Carmen Ghia and was wondering how it would go with my Zilla fatboy 212 with neo creambacks?
Thanks Jonny

Of course it would. But it's up to your ears if you like the result. Sorry, that may not be the answer you're looking for, but tone is subjective, and one person may like it and the next may not.
That said, anything in the creamback/greenback camp with a closed back cabinet is usually very appealing to most ghia players.

More than a lot of amps the Ghia really responds to different speakers and tubes in a big way. I mean, it accentuates the differences between them. And that's a good thing. I find that it sounds good with a lot of different speakers too. I can plug into two different cabs and get a big difference, more than if I did the same thing with another amp. The Ghia is unique in a lot of ways. Great amp.

I double what John and Dave say. For instance a lot of guys love the Ghia in a 110 combo with the Red Fang. I was finally able to get that configuration and I didn't like it at all. It didn't sound bad, but it was too loud for my purposes and I lost a lot of the range this two knob brilliant design can give because I had to keep the volume knob so low.
If you get one and feel like your close and not 100% there, the Ghia really responds differently depending on what you have in v1. More so than any amp I've tried swapping tubes with. Obviously the el84's will make a difference too, but v1 is a great place to start with this amp.

Thanks guys, now to find one of them. A lot of the American boutique stuff is really low in stock here in the UK at the moment.

I believe Peach Guitars in Colchester has one in stock.
