I've been going round and round with speakers since I got the Maz Jr. I put an EV12L in the combo cab, and it sounded spectacular, but it had a buzz or rattle. I thought the speaker was bad. Then I built my head cab, and I tried a G12H75 in my little 1x12 convertible cab. (with the middle section open) And that sounded pretty good, but I wanted a bit more girth. So I tried my Eminence PF350 in it, and that was buzzing, too! Now, I know this speaker is not blown, because it's 350 watts, and it's hardly been used. I bought it to use with my Surgical Steel amp, but then I gave up on pedal steel, so it's practically brand new. I knew something wasn't right. I finally figured out it wasn't the speaker rattling and buzzing, it was something on the table behind the amp. So now I have the EV12L back in there (with the back all closed off) and no more buzz/rattle...and it sounds spectacular again!!! D'OH!!!

Better than my latest. I was getting low volume and weak tone. Checked all sorts of stuff on the guitar end and the amp end. Turns out that when I plugged into the board I didn't totally push the cable in. At least I'm getting faster at running through the dumb possibilities.

Gotta love it when you run into things like that. At least you figured it out.

That's nothin'. Last Sunday morning I was getting ready for Praise Band and I couldn't figure out why my tone SUCKED...I mean it was thin, nasally, ugly, barf tone. I spent 20 minutes trying to dial in my drives and amp, then I realized that
MY WAH WAH PEDAL WAS ON.
Another 20 minutes later I had my pedals reset and was thoroughly filled with anxiety when it was time to perform.

I had a horrible rattle once. It was a loose screw in the cab handle. Took way too long to find. Tightened it up. No issues since.

Last night I plugged my input cable from the pedals into the amp, and the output into the guitar. IDK how it still worked at all, but it didn't sound great. I only figured it out when the tuner wouldn't come on when I clicked the pedal.

Ever heard the sound of a closed back 4x12 cab facing backwards before..? Not yet, but the way I've been going here lately it must be coming.

Funny though, it didn't sound bad per say, just really different.

I read somewhere that George Benson accidentally left the vibrato on (set low) when recording the Breezing' album. They liked the sound - a happy accident.

How about those of us who've had a horrible buzzing/pulsing sound? It happens about every 30-45 seconds and it lasts for about 5 seconds.
Then we learned not to place our cell phones on top of the amp.

My band was playing last weekend and thought the bass players Hartke (1x12 kickback) had blown the speaker. After about 4 songs, he started looking for his set list that he thought he sat on top of his amp??? It had fallen behind the amp and was rattling against the back of the amp and the wall. The amp is ported in the back, so all that air was rattling the paper pretty hard. We are all relieved! So, see..... It's not just you

It's not just you I bet I'm not the only one that's had the same problem but with a footswitch cable rattling against the speaker cone from the rear of a combo amp...I learned that one back in the '80s!

Then we learned not to place our cell phones on top of the amp. yup we were recording and "that sound" was coming across on some of the tracks upon discovering it was our cell phones (in pockets and accessory bags, not on the amps) we all opted to either shut down or switch to airplane mode really got us thinking about the Bluetooth devices stuck in our ears too with bi-direction comms transmitting (growing brain tumors) - gotta cut back on that for sure
