Howdy,
The bulb indicating power on the front panel of my Cure was intermittent for a few weeks, now it's out. Amp still works, no light. I have unplugged the amp, unscrewed the jewel, but that little sucker won't come out. Do I need to remove the chassis from the cabinet to change the bulb?
Thanks,

Push bulb, then twist CCW. Should pop out. If not some times they do get stuck you will have to pull the chassis which will give you full access to the lamp holder. Also go to Amplified Parts online and order a LED type #47 bulb it will last a lifetime.

I have used a rubber glove to get traction on the bulb.

Okay, a rubber jar lid opener did the trick, and thank you!

I've got the same problem - amp works fine, but bulb is out. I'll be ordering the part that the Doctor recommended from Amplified Parts. It sounds like I can access and change the bulb, without pulling the chassis, if I'm careful, which is great news. Is that correct? I've unscrewed the jewel light from the front of the amplifier. If I can get a proper grip on it, I can pull the bulb socket out, just enough to remove and replace, and then gently push the socketed bulb back into the chassis? Is that more or less "it"?

You need to press the bulb and and turn it counter clockwise about a quarter turn while holding it pressed in. That will release the bulb and the spring in the lamp holder should push the bulb out enough that you can pull it out.

Thank you so much for this! I see that the Doctor alluded to this, and I breezed past it. It sounds like the socket remains attached to the chassis, so that I won't be yanking any wires out behind the bulb, which is nice.
I'm pretty sure I've found the bulb that the Doctor recommended.
Does that look right? Version #47, 6.3v? Looking at the bulb, I can see the little knobs that the chassis grips, after they're inserted and given a quarter-turn.

Instead of using something rubber to grip those bulbs I usually wad up a piece of masking tape or gaff tape into a small ball with the adhesive out and stick it onto the bulb.
