A 2x10 Mazerati combo was the first thing I purchased with my first paycheck after college. I had an empty apartment and no furniture, but an awesome amp! Over 10 years later and it is still the only amp I take to a gig. Recently, Don at Z added a master volume and now the amp is even more versatile and sounds great at home volume as well.
Is this still anyone else’s main gigging amp? If not, what have you replaced it with? Every time I start looking at other amps, I just think about not being able to take this one to a gig, and I no longer feel the need to look at other amps.

When we were playing, before covid, I used a Z 6545, or a couple of Germinos. Most recently I have been using my 30th Anniversary Mazerati, Carr Mercury V, or Matchless DC30.
Choice influenced by indoor or outdoor venues and how close folks are to the stage.
I use an attenuator frequently. Some venues want to make sure patrons can talk over the music.

I'm curious--in what ranking order (indoor vs. outdoor; audience close to stage vs. far away) would you rank those amps? I'm very familiar with the Mercury V, and I'm guessing both the 30th Anniv. Mazerati and the DC30 are both ear-splitting loud...

If stage volume is restricted I will bring my Suhr reactive load IR and go direct to the board. If indoor, and not running full PA, the Carr is good for those rooms. I also have a couple of of other attenuators to try and help keep things in check. I know. Clear as mud. But that is how my mind works. The volume restrictions here are pretty tight. Hard to have a band play at a level that customers can talk over.

Main delta is the EF86 side of the DC. The Mazerati does have a lot of similar territory for the 12ax7 side.
