I just got my Z-28 back from the shop. I put all new tubes in it and had it biased at top gear in San Diego. Tim as usual did an awesome job on it. I got to test it out at church today and was so happy to get that percussive feel and touch response that I was missing for so long. What a great sounding amp. I am stoked to have that sound back! Tim at Top gear was impressed with the Z-28 as well. It is a classic Z amp. I have had several Z amps that have come and gone. But there is something really special and cool about the Z-28. I am also Glad the Doc is bring it back. It is a worthy contender and it packs a mean punch!

I set the bias on my Z-28 measuring the current only and it sounds great, but want to get an oscilloscope and really dial in for no crossover distortion, if there's any now. I've owned several Z amps and still own aa few others, but this sucker rocks. I played my second gig with it Saturday and for the last song I took out my earplugs. Zowie-wowie!

I just got done biasing mine by the current. Sounds just like it did before the tube swap, FREAKING AMAZING! Still my favorite Z, the sound is instant perfection.

I was mainly giggling with a Marshall studio vintage combo until I got my Z-28 They are both great amps but the instant percussiveness and touch response of the Z-28 is hard to beat. The church I’m at just moved into a new building that I used to go to and I cannot wait to play the Z-28 when we go back on Sept 5 which is also my birthday.
