Not really sure if this fit better here or in the Lounge, but I just want to give a heads up to any slide playerZ here that haven’t checked out the amazing works of art from Chris at Silica Sound. I have no affiliation other than I’ve been a customer using his slides for a few years now. Chris’s slides are hands down my favorite of any I’ve ever tried in a long list. I own a variety of variations on his “shorty” model, which are perfect for my smaller hands and playing preferences. I really appreciate the variety I get by rotating between them depending on what is called for, as the different wall thicknesses and diameters nicely change up the balance between sustain and resonance, as well as the eq balance between plain and wound strings across the fretboard, so you can really dial in the sound you’re looking for. I suggest figuring out which length and taper fits your finger best, and then experimenting with the different weights and sizes to dial in the tone and feel that suits you best. Unparalleled tone, custom fit, and maximum inspirational eye candy mojo for any blown glass fan. Heck, they’re even annealed so they tend to bounce on even hard floors, which has saved me several times now. Anyhow, it’s been a real pleasure doing business with Chris several times in the past few years. He really takes the time and puts the care into his work, and into making sure you’re satisfied with your purchase. Highly recommended trading some of your minted metal for some of his melted sand. Truly a slide worthy of the amazingly dynamic and articulate Dr. Z amps.

I'm a huge fan of Chris and his slides...I have several but the shorty on my pinky finger is my favorite!

Love my silica sound slides. I think I have one in each guitar case. I found his slides in a small shop in San Jose. That had to be back around 2006 or so. Been using them ever since.
