Actually got this on June 30 so I'm tardy. Got it from A Sharp Music Co in Renton on their last day of business. Last electric in the store. She's a rocker! Mahogany body with maple cap.

Hey Steve!! Super cool guitar! Congrats! I have been thinking about a trade for a similar one of these but in the S2 series...how do you like it so far?

Hey Steve!! Super cool guitar! Congrats! I have been thinking about a trade for a similar one of these but in the S2 series...how do you like it so far? I like it a lot. It came with 9-42's which is a bit lighter than I'm used to here. Makes for some pretty satisfying vibratos and bends, if a bit thinner sounding than the fat strings. The guitar also has strong midrange which may be due to the body design or due to PRS's approach to humbucker pickups. Hard to say. Sounds mighty fine with a distorted approach, but I'm not as pleased for clean. We'll see. Have to try it still on my Z-Lux and Nova. Well, and the Ghia too.

I've had one of those. Got it after hearing one Paul (6-Strang) had at a Z-Fest. I liked the bridge pickup but wasn't crazy about the neck. Found it a bit muddy for me. Replaced it and the bridge (just because I had it) with Seymour Duncan Slash's and was happy. I also tried a Dimarzio humbucker from hell in the neck before the Slash's and it was really clean and very Strat sounding. I would have left it that way with the original bridge, but I had the Slash's sitting around, and you know how it is, couldn't help myself, had to try them.

I believe all PRS guitars ship out set up with 10-46 strings, but I've tried 9's on one of mine since my hands start to fatigue now that I am older and not playing as much. I have seen a lot of session players with SE's - they like the feel but they are easy to modify the electronics if you so desire. Congratulations Steve!

Love it, Steve. Great looking guitar, but I can't help thinking that somebody's gonna crash into it when they open the door!
