Just bought one, hope to have it by the weekend. Well it arrived on Saturday, but I was out of town. I had a chance to fire it up yesterday and i'm really stoked with this one. I wanted the NM Version and I got a fairly early one. It has attributes of the JW SRZ65 and the RT66, but definitely its own thing. The one thing that it does better than any of my other Z's is single notes or single note lines pop out without being boosted. Its tight, articulate, and even with the 6v6's it still bright and cutting. One of my favorite amps of all time is the Budda SD30, I always used it on the first channel, just breaking up and hit it with a boost pedal. My only complaint is that it could be dark, feel like it wasn't opening up at times. The Remedy is is definitely more open, and won't get lost in the mix. The amp set on edge of breakup with a Timmy is Rock all the way, but when you roll the volume back its almost Fendery and that is pretty damn cool.

Creamback is the speaker I landed on when I had a Remedy. Congratulations, great amp.

Agree with the Creamback speaker - it sounded the best of all the speakers I tried with the Remedy I had.

More than likely to get started i'll be putting it into either a pair of greenbacks or a V Type. I'm still looking for another Z2x12.

Anybody know Gordon Swanson? At one time this was his Remedy.

Remedy it currently my only Z. I too am a Creamback M fan. I have a 1X12 Traynor Dark Horse which is a convertible cabinet that I use closed. I recommend getting a Rangemaster style pedal. Really gooses the tone when you have the amp overdriven some (or a lot!). I’ve got an older Time Machine Boost (Legendary Tones and Robert Keeley collaboration). Andy67 uses one as well, not sure of the vintage. There seems to be a few makers with a version of the Rangemaster available. ME

I’m currently running this one into 2 1x12’s with greenbacks. I still haven’t tracked down another 2x12, but with this and another amp hopefully coming next week I’m outta cash for now.

Totally agree with you on the non master version. The 2 1/2 with greenbacks is also the way to go. I am a strat guy but when I had my remedy I also had a les paul and with the remedy/ 212 greenbacks it was 70's rock tone to the bone. I tried the creamback in a 1/12 cab it was not bad either but the set up you have now rules!

Crank up the Remedy and step on the TMB plugged into a Lester and you’ll go back to that time when guitars ruled the world. Enjoy it! Tons of tone!!

My experience with the Remedy..in a side by side speaker shootout: Greenbacks: Classic rock V30: Heavy Metal G12H30: Very unpleasing tone. They don't pair well together. Over the years, greenbacks (and clones) are the HEAVILY favored speaker. My favorite Remedy setting w humbuckers: Treble: well below noon (even down at 9am) Mid: noon or above Bass: to taste, but above noon Treble (bright) volume knob: pretty up there...around 3 Normal (bass) volume knob: OFF Keeping the treble low, compensates for the normal volume being OFF. Use this setting with a humbucker guitar and a closed back cab with greenbacks...pure 70's classic rock. The high (bright) volume knob is set pretty high, but use the guitar volume knob for dynamic changes and to clean things up. For single coils, keep the same settings, but bring the normal volume knob up until you hear enough bass kick in.
I use a creamback in an open back cabinet. The creamback M has a bit more bass than a regular greenback, and that is welcome in an open back cabinet. I also have a closed back with a greenback clone.

That is no doubt about it very accurate. You have all the bases covered John! I had the creamback m in an open back as well and agree with your findings. Never tried a greenback in a 1/12 but having it closed back makes a whole lot of sense.

Interesting… gonna politely disagree about the V30 ….. not so much “metal” but sure did cover some good rock n roll tones Just my .02 Cheers always Joel
