Just wanted to post a note about how cool I think the Z 1x12 cab is.
I'm sort of a die hard 4x12 guy, but this thing sounds fantastic. Both open and closed. It has low end in both open and closed configs, but it has an immediacy and punch in closed mode like the 4x12's I'm used to. It just sounds full and alive.
I was so jazzed about that I bought another one to put a different type of speaker in. First one has V30, second one will wind up with green or cream.
But, what really prompted me to post this is the attention to detail regarding the aesthetics of the cab. It's diamond beautiful and I thought some attention should be made to whomever builds these things. The tolex, grill cloth, piping, logo placement, how the corners are attached... it's just a complete work of art. This is the 3rd Z thing I've gotten where I've just been floored with how perfect it looks to be put together and I just had to say something. First cab was all back and is stunning, new one is black with oxblood grill cloth and it's just stunning and more.

I've owned & investigated a LOT of 1x12 cabinets over the last many years; and I have to say, that Doc's 1x12 cab is just about the perfect-sized (Goldilocks--not too big, not too small) 1x12 cab and it's got the tone to back it up.

I totally agree. His cabs are top notch. If I didn’t own a Z I would most likely have a Z cab. I also appreciate the attention to detail on the inside.

A 112 Z cab was on my list for years to get but I missed the boat. I do have the same 210 cab, though. On another note, I love Z’s newest 212 cabs with the oval back. Solid cabs 😎

Adam, you are so right about that cab. It was one of the best buy’s I ever made. Really enjoyed my old Hiwatt 4x12 with Celestion 75’s, the Z-Best with Z12’s, an old Bandmaster 2x12, but the Z 1x12 convertible is going nowhere as long as I play electric guitar, it’s that important to me. It is an instrument too.

Yeah, Steve, it really surprised me. So practical too.

I love mine too. I've got front baffles for 1x12, 2x10, and 1x15. It's the perfect design, strong and light.

I bought a variety of good 1x12 cabinets at lower costs that I ended up unhappy with. They are usually too boomy in the bass or not bassy enough. The Z 1x12 convertible seems very neutral and still full sounding. I use them with more than just Z amps too. I have two of them and actually would like to sell off a couple non-Z's to buy another Z 1x12 cab.

I love my Z 1x12. I’ve used mine with many different amps to great satisfaction.

I’ve been waiting for months for Humbucker music to get more stock of the Z 1x12 cabs. I know SweetWater carries them as well but you can get the Z12 speaker option with Humbucker.

Recently I bought a half sheet of 1/2" plywood, 2x4 feet. It was $27.00! I remember buying full sheets a couple of years ago for 1/4 the price I paid for a half sheet.

As soon as I can find a 1x12 in black w/ s&p grill w/ a V30 in stock somewhere, I’m gonna grab one. My current Avatar 1x12 is a nice cab, but it can be a little boomy in the lows at times, just as you described with certain other non-Z 1x12 cabs, Adam. Having owned several differ Z cabs in the past, I can certainly attest that they’re second to none as far as build quality, materials, and above all sonic performance, not to mention that convertible back is super useful feature.

That's a quarter sheet. Absolutely ridiculous. I have a friend that works at Home Depot and he says THEIR costs are already coming down and we will eventually see prices closer to normal. Problem is they have inventory that they paid higher prices for so they need to charge accordingly until it is gone.

My wish has been granted! Just snagged a brand spankin’ new Black/S&P Z 1x12 from Humbucker with a Creamback M65... They were out of V30s, and the Creamback represents a new speaker experience to me, so I figured I’d satisfy some curiosity on that at the same time... Plus I figured it would give me a nice alternative to my Avatar Vintage 1x12 w/ V30, and when I find myself in situations where I want to move a little more air I can piggyback back the two together (the Avatar already has a handy extension cab output jack wired in), as I’ve really liked what I heard from that V30/Creamback M pairing in the various clips I’ve listened to. Super stoked for new cab/speaker day! Hey Adam, you SURE you’re not a salesman?!!

No salesman, just sharing stuff that I think is worthwhile. Totally. I can definitely tell you’re not a salesman, and I mean that only in the best of ways in that you come across clearly as an enthusiast. Your posts and videos are quite inspiring in a genuinely friendly and helpful way.

NCD is today, and it has been AWESOME! These Z 1x12 cabs are every bit as impressive as you claimed, Adam. I’m floored. This is the nicest built, best-sounding cab I’ve ever owned. Details matter, and they are ALL accounted for. Sounds equally amazing open or closed. Z knocked it out of the park. The ultimate “accessory” to a Ghia, or probably most any Z amp.. Loving the Creamback M... Still gotta get her in a mix and home from the honeymoon to ever know for sure what she’s really about, but right outta the gate I have to say this is very possibly my favorite speaker cab I’ve ever heard; does literally EVERYTHING well... Dare I say PERFECTLY. Without hesitation, so far I can say there is not a single thing I am left wanting for from this amazing product and experience. Well the wait, and every single penny spent. Outstanding service from John and crew at Humbucker Music, too.

Sounds equally amazing open or closed. Z knocked it out of the park. Glad you like it! The attention to detail gets me every time too, it's very noticeable. Kudos to those guys for sure. Currently using my Creamback M with the maz 38 and super happy with it. Something maybe worth sharing here... .. I dialed in the amp super clean with a LP with pretty high output pickups, sounds great to me. Plugged in a Strat with super low output pickups and it sounded just anemic (no wonder really). Anyway, went through a bunch of pedals trying to see what I could use to balance the volume/tone a bit better to the LP and landed on a Voodoo Lab Giggity pedal that I've had forever and never really found use for. The Strat now sounds stunning through the amp too. So if anyone is looking for a pedal to to do the same type of purpose, it really works fantastically for that. I kind of dialed in the pedal like you would dial in an amp, but without touching the amp. I wound up with a sound I never would have arrived at in the past because the approach was completely different.

I dig it more than the H75 in the amps I compared them with. And love my Z-112.

Just wanted to post a note about how cool I think the Z 1x12 cabinet is. Ive had mine for 5 or 6 years and I love it - black with wreck grill. I use mine open back and it sounds huge. Have used it with several different heads (not all were Zs) and all worked great with it. It's currently paired quite nicely with a Z-wreck jr head. I have a Gold in there now but the CB M65 sounded great and Im gonna try a 25w GB here pretty soon.

I currently have the 25w GB in mine and think it's going to stay there for a while.
