Yesterday, I went down to my mom and dad's and got my Fender CS '63 Tele that I call Betsy. I've had much on my equipment in storage because of house renovations that don't seem to ever be coming to an end... She's finally getting new frets in a few weeks. She's an incredible guitar and all the bumps, bruises, finish cracks, and well worn vintage frets proves that. She's done nothing but gain character over the years. She's 20 years old this year and still one of the greatest guitar purchases I've ever made. Also, I bought the very first set of P90s that Todd (PCNS) has made. At least I think these are the first. I'll be putting them in my Grosh ElectraJet to replace the ElectraSonics in there now. I know that will be a great move. I've grown fond of P90s since I got my Les Paul Gold Top a couple of years ago.

Beautiful guitars, and of course the Lux looks great too.

nice guitars Russell. I'm glad to be part of your tone. The P903's you bought are the first production set. Thanks for letting letting me play with them before we ship them out. The final tweaks we made have these dialed in nicely.

Nice guitars. I especially like the Grosh but I usually like his guitars (own two).

I think you'll love Todd & Josh's pickups, Russell. I've got two sets of humbuckers and a set of tele pickups from them, and they rock.

I still remember pics of that guitar being posted on the forum a long time ago.

I got the new pickups from Todd and he nailed them. The bridge has bite and balances well with the neck pickup. The neck is clear and can really sound "straty" at "just breaking up" amp settings. I'm very pleased. Now I thinking about talking to Will Shea about a tele style guitar with these pickups. I think that would be very cool and sound great too.

man that tele is straight fire. There's a story around that Tele. I went down to Mobile, AL in 2001 to visit my friends at MMI Music (out of business now) with no intentions of buying a guitar. My friend Dwight showed it to me. They keep the really great guitars in the cases behind the counter. He opened it and I wouldn't touch it! lol. But, after a about 30 mins, I circled back around to it. I knew I had to have before I plugged it into an amp. It felt great in my hands and just rang out acoustically! I took it home that day. About 3 weeks later, Dwight called and told be that the tele was a custom build for another customer. I was completely bummed out, but I understood and sent it back to them and got a PRS McCarty in return. A few weeks after that, Dwight called me again and said that he was mistaken. That guitar was not a custom build and he asked if I still wanted it. I didn't buy it. About a year later, I just couldn't get my mind off of that guitar, but I figured it had to be sold by now. My wife encouraged me to call him and sure enough, he still had it at the store. I went down that Saturday and got it. I told them to not even think about calling me to get it back. It's named Betsy because I had a friend in Alabama who helped me get a great job. I still have that job. When I was leaving MMI that Saturday, I called my wife and said, "Betsy is coming home!" The name stuck. lol
