I've been eyeing one of these for a while, and I ain't gettin any younger, so I bought it new from Humbucker. This is the Pete Thorn model. Very impressed with the setup right outa the box. This is a definite keeper. Now all I have to do is figure out how to PAY for it!!

Nice! I w@s torn between the red Thorn model or a EBMM Luke III. I went with the Luke but can’t rule out getting a red Thorn at some point. I like the Turquoise blue one as well.

I had almost bought that same guitar, then I decided to build another Warmoth.
That looks great, looking forward to your review.

Awesome! Those Thornbuckers are some of the best pickups I've ever played, period.

Congratulations Lou. I’ve never played a Suhr, but they are definitely at the top tier of guitars. Enjoy!

Awesome! Those Thornbuckers are some of the best pickups I've ever played, period. I agree Mark. I put a set in my 2001 PRS C-24 and they are excellent. I bought that guitar used last year and it had HOT DiMarzio's in it. The Thornbuckers are so good. Highly recommended.

Did you find it hard at all to get used to the switching?

Did you find it hard at all to get used to the switching? I haven't gigged it yet, but so far so good. For me, I'll only engage the coil tap on the bridge PU if I feel the need for a single coil bridge Strat tone. I might have liked position 1 and 2 to be reversed so that full forward on the switch was the full neck HB and #2 was the tapped neck HB. Suhr could probably give me a diagram to change it around if I think I need to do it.

Congrats. Those seem like great guitars. I really like Suhr pickups. I have a Thornbucker in the neck and an Aldrich in the bridge of my Les Paul. Totally awesome pickups!

Cool guitar, Lou. Eager to hear a report once you've broken it in, so to speak.
