Recently I'd seen several videos pop up in my YouTube feed with this pedal. It seems to get great reviews and seems to be one of the 'in vogue' pedals these days. After doing some research it seems interesting. The left side is a tweaked Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal and the right is a tweaked Nobel ODR-1. It doesn't hurt that it's a fantastic looking pedal either. The only thing is now I seem to be leaning toward actually ordering a KoT from my space that came up over a year ago

So, did you get the Protein? If so, what do you think of it? Looks and sounds interesting to me as well, but either I’m totally inept at dialing in solid state OD pedals or I just don’t seem to care for them. I do like germanium treble boosts though, ironically.

Curious as to how you get on with this one, Keith. As I noted in the Nobels ODR-1 thread, I decided to get the Nordland ODR-C rather than the Browne because I have BB pedals well covered (KoT and King Tone Duellist, which is also outstanding.)

I’m interested to see what the low gain Bluesbreaker side is like on this one. Im also going to take out some of my other pedals to give them a go again. I’m thinking my running them with higher drive levels and lower ‘level’ levels was part of my problem.

It’s the BB side I’m most interested in. I’m going to try it through the Z-Plus tonight.

I find keeping the gain down and stacking pedals gives me a lot of flavors when run into a mostly clean (on its own) amp. If I want more gain I go CAZ

Someone has one of these up on the Buffalo CL right now. Thanks for saving me the time to research. That's an interesting combination. I like duel pedals a lot, but honestly don't care much for those that just double the circuit. I honestly didn't find the KoT all that impressive when I had it. I recently came across a PoT at the local shop and picked it up thinking I could probably get better sounds dialed in with more experience at this point, but it was okay not great. I must have messed something up when I built my 808 from the BYOC kit because it always sounds really close to the breaker style pedals I've tried. I have still yet to ever try an OD1 circuit.
