Well, my wife works from home and you add that we are home schooling a sixth and fourth grader this year, and the opportunity to turn the Maz up doesn't come up much. So the wife ran my daughter to dance this afternoon and I was working out of the home office, but I didn't get the itch until she was gone longer than I thought. Being that it's been so long I didn't just want to turn it up, I cranked the volume and master, and kicked in the Cusack boost just to make sure. She was back too soon into my jam and apparently she could hear quiet well when she pulled in. She was even wondering who in the neighborhood likes loud guitars because her husband should meet him.
Since the school situation isn't getting fixed until September, I'm going to need to bring the rig over to church for some late night cranked time.
I probably don't want to wish her deaf before retirement, hopefully noise canceling ear phones get amazing in the next 20 years.

Yep. I know what you mean. Amps need to be cranked up every now and then.

It's always a good thing to flex the amp's muscles. I was watching an interview with David Gilmour about guitar tones the other day. He was explaining how to get cranked guitar tone in a studio or home without really high volume levels, and held up an overdrive pedal, then pointed at a master volume amp. He said you can get close, but it wasn't as good as "Leaning back, supported by the wall of sound coming from the amplifiers"...The wry smile on his face said it all. He went on about how much fun it is to play at stadium amp levels. Ah, the good ol' days of Rock and Roll. I miss the '70s.

I was going to go with DaddyElmis on some good earplugs/ear muffs. But, my last band rehearsed here at the house. And, I learned, it is very hard to contain sound. And, even if the Mrs moves to the farthest room in the house or you do some earplugs, you still have that rumble.
An idea just popped into my head: Flowers, Chocolates, a spa visit, send her out to dinner with her friend and pre-pay it (in non-pandemic times), jewelry?

Once a month, after our monthly payday, my wife and daughter do a Sam's Club run. Usually takes at least 2 hours so I have everything setup and ready to go when they leave so I can play really loud! So far the neighbors haven't complained, I think they must have good windows! Now if i could just get the trip to last 3 hours.....

Now if i could just get the trip to last 3 hours..... Next time they go, just tell them you need them to get you the large size box of #10 Stairway Dutchmen for a project you’re working on. That should keep them looking for an additional hour 😁

Well, well... I have a Studio Deluxe Maz 38 with reverb coming my way. Plan to shot out the two amps and speaker combos and see which sticks. I think I'll sell my wife on it when it gets here by showing her that its smaller than the other amp that she worried was too loud.
