I used to have a Maz18NR that I sold and I’m still regretting my choice. Now I’m really tempted to buy it again but I can’t find a NR model ( I’m in Italy ). I can buy new for almost 2400 dollars or a reverb Mk1 for 1500 dollars. For that difference in money is it worth the Mk2?

Yes, I’ve seen them go for less but I’m not in Italy. But yes, the MKII is worth extra money.

Be patient, don’t pay more than $1100-1150 on a mki. I was going to Cleveland for a concert and dropped off the chassis for the update so I saved 1/2 the shipping. This is the longest I’ve had an amp and don’t see selling. I guess I’m saying mkii is really good, but you don’t need to be at $2400.

About the mk1 ( the latest version) it won’t be less than that ...two years ago when I sold mine the price was the same...you can find the older version for less but not the latest. Can you you explain why is worth it? What is it that makes the mk2 a lot better compares to the previous version ? I’m afraid I can’t try it before buying...don’t know why but in Italy they are becoming pretty rare DrZ amps

This likely won’t be a popular opinion but it represents my experience anyway. I have 4 Jrs. that are a mixture of MKI and MKII and at loud home volumes (clean-ish) I don’t find much specifically identifiable difference. A great sounding amp doesn’t know which version it is; it just sounds great. And Jrs. are great amps. Having said that, my MKIs are later production units made closer to the changeover so there’s that.
I know you can’t play them first but if each amp were a great example of it's particular version I’d probably save the money. Sounds like you could always flip it if you weren’t pleased with it.

If your going for reverb model I say yes...I have had several older reverb model and you know the drill...a nicely kept version 1 is nice if minty and well cared for...but reverb is worth the price...quiet,reliable...

Like has been said, at higher master volume settings the differences will be less noticeable. At Lower volumes the MKII master is hard to beat for saturated higher gain overdrive tones at lower volume.
The NR and Reverb are voiced a little different, if your into an NR tone, the Reverb model may have a bit different overdriven tone and not quite as much gain.
I have a MKI reverb and a MKII reverb, they are both great and also different from each other, though my MKI is older. If overdriven tones at a broad range of volume levels is a primary requirement, the MKII is a better choice. At louder volumes the gap narrows, and some might prefer the way a MKI drives the output.

I will say that I’ve found Z are very responsive to the tubes you put in them. My mki sounded great when I got it, and have a higher end set of tubes. Didn’t realize when I first responded that you were in Italy and had more limited access. Watch what Z said to see if YOU think mkii is worth it. If you get a mki just make sure at a minimum that your power tubes and v1 preamp are good quality.

The other thing to consider that I didn't think about until now is the eq bypass foot switch. It comes in the mkii, and you'll need to check about the mki available to you. Some love them. I thought it worked really well with my Cure, but I don't like the set up. The standard cord was never the right length and another thing to worry about between my pedal board and amp. With my Cure I just mostly left it home and used a boost, which sounded almost identical to the eq bypass. When I had my Maz updated I choice not to add the eq bypass option. I haven't regretted it once.
