I'm not a big fan of Bigsby's...Also don't have an excess $2,400 sitting around for a guitar at this time. That being said, it is a sweet looking guitar. I'm sure it sounds excellent as well...a Collings with Lollars.

I have a 290 in that same “Doghair” finish with Peter Florence P90’s and a fixed stoptail bridge. Let me tell you, it is a blast to play! Get it!

Looks like you're in luck! Someone bought it...lol. Or was it YOU!?! I've had several 290's over the years. Single cuts with two P90's, double cuts with one P90.....Awesome instruments, as all Collings are. But all have moved on to new happy homes. Until recently.... I woke up one morning wanting a humbucker equipped 290. I know they are rare, but thought I'll just see. I found this one and like it better than all the rest I've had! They come mostly with 290's, but are available with all sorts of pickup options these days~ Highly recommended!!

My John Lennon tribute 290. Charlie Christian in the neck and P90 in the bridge. Hows that Charlie Christian sound through the Z-Master?

Amazing! It is so clean and the 3D sound of the Z-Master accentuates the cleans!

After years of wheeling and dealing and trading up I finally got my Collings acoustic. After having been handed one when I was looking at Martins years ago I could never let that tone go. My D1 does not disappoint. That's the reason that I don't even really want to pick up one of their electrics. The thing I have in my favor is that I really don't care for scales shorter than 25.5. I've had and played some great sounding Gibsons, but never liked the way they played. I do love the dog hair.

I just turned 46. Between now and retiring I have two kids to put in college. That’s an addiction I can’t afford. Now I’m really going to avoid playing a Collings electric. 😇

I've always wanted a Collings 290. For me, I think there is only one colour (TV Yellow) but I could be talked into a custom Ferrari Red.
It will never happen now, though, as I know it would just sit in its case in the closet. Great looking guitar, though.

MarkT, thanks for the link. I just got lost in their Previously Sold listings for a few minutes. Talk about eye candy, I had to put on a drool bib. I figured it would be safe to look at the ones that were no longer available.
