Howdy folks, Is it possible? If so please point me in the right direction. I don't have a strat only a Bill nash Tele but i should be able to get there? I have a fulltone OCD and a lizard legs flying dragon clean boost.

This might not be what you want to hear:
The most important thing in the pursuit of SRV tone....is your fingers.

If you're working at low volumes, the clean boost ain't gonna do any good (although, that IS a nice clean boost).
If all you've got is a tele, stick with the neck pickup and ideally grab a Tube Screamer pedal. Otherwise, with the OCD, definitely keep the switch on "LP" mode and keep the gain low. Just a dab is all you need. Any amp that still sounds fat & still musical at low volumes (Fender Deluxe Reverb... or a Dr. Z M12) would be best.

you'll also need heavy gauge strings ... .013 – .017 – .026w – .036 – .046 – .056 were common for him. Plus he used a wound 3rd (G) string. Yahoo! To me that was a very important component of his tone (but, as was said, most of it was in his fingers).

Here's an idea: The Cure shares a bit of MAZ DNA in the front end. In the video below there's a nice little section with a Strat going SRVish. There are clear images of knob settings, which you could use as a starting point for the Cure. I have a Nash Tele also; mine has Lollars, whatever ones Bill Nash normally uses. I can get a decent enough, for me, approximation of SRV tone with that guitar, especially on the neck pickup. One thing to keep in mind: the Level control can get you where you want with the overall volume, but as you quiet down your ears' response to high and low frequencies changes. Consequently, you may need to re-tweak the settings. Pursuit of SRV tone is a "rabbit hole": string gauges, half-step lower tuning, "right" tube screamer, etc. Keep us posted on what you find.

Yes, for sure--use your Cure, it'll be ideal for this. you'll also need heavy gauge strings ... .013 – .017 – .026w – .036 – .046 – .056 were common for him. Plus he used a wound 3rd (G) string. Yahoo! To me that was a very important component of his tone (but, as was said, most of it was in his fingers). Actually, there's an interview with his tech, Rene Martinez, somewhere on YouTube where he rattles off Stevie's string gauges: .011, .015, .019, .028w, .038w, .058w That huge jump on the low E-string up to .058 really would make sense, considering how he would twang that thing. (There's so many Rene Martinez videos; but if I find that specific one I'll link it here.)

I play a lot of SRV at low volume using Strat (Tele will do) and Fender Style amp (probably any Dr. Z will do). Add tube screamer type pedal if the amp is too clean for the volume you are at. If that doesn't work then it's your technique and not your gear. I don't think there's any gear to give you the SRV sound if you don't have the technique. And if you have the technique most any gear will work. It took me a while to realize this.
