Hi folks, always been interested in a zwreck, and the jr. Version is obviously more affordable. My fear is that at 15 watts it wont quite have the volume I like. I like loud. I had a cure for a short period of time. Would you have any volume e comparison to that to amp to comment on? I'm just a home player , but like a bit of clean headroom, not squeaky clean. My current amps are all 50 wattMarshall's. I would be playing it through astoneage2.x12 cab with g12m-65 creamback speakers. thanks.

Hi Mike....I can't speak to the Wreck Jr, but I've had a Wreck and have a Cure. The Cure is my regular gig amp. My Wreck was PLENTY loud.
I just took a look at the efficiency rating of the 65 CB (great sounding speaker BTW) and it's 97db. That will definitely tame a 50w Marshall, but for me, that low an efficiency would be a deal breaker for a gig amp running 15w. You'll have no clean headroom. Ask me how I know!
In my Cure I run a 101.2 db speaker and have never come close to running out of headroom. For reference I play in an 8pc horn band and am always mic'd up.
I think the Wreck Jr would be a great home amp as Doc has an excellent master volume on it which my Wreck didn't have.
Let us know if you decide to get one!

Thanks Lt. Yeah, I realize the lower efficiency creamback will play a part. It's an oversized cab, so that may get me where I like it. I keep telling myself to get a lower powered amp, but I keep getting old 50 watt Marshall's. Lol. I pretty much run the amp to break up then control with guitar volume knobs. I'm not looking for fender clean. As it turns out, I did make the purchase, gotta strike when the irons hot .

It’s REALLY loud! The loudest 15 watts you will ever hear. You can use it for just about any gig with that Master volume.

Stone Age cabs are awesome. Just sayin... Don’t own a Wreck so can’t help there.

Yeah, as expected, the JR should be very loud. What most people don’t understand is that every 3db of increased volume requires 2x power (wall other factors the same.) Even so, 3db is not a big volume difference.
Changing speakers, as others have mentioned, or doubling them may have the same or greater output- if that’s even necessary.

It's loud. Plenty of oomph for club gigs, and way more than most folks would need for at home playing. Lots of bass kick in the combo (more than you'd expect from a Greenback), awesome chime in the upper mids and top. Very punchy, dynamic amp--especially loves single coils (but also great with a Lester). That said, not sure how it would compare to a 50-watt Marshall. But yeah--Z-watts are LOUD watts.

Also, I wouldn't say there was a ton of clean headroom in the ZW Jr, which is pretty typical of amps I've owned with this type of power section. That early breakup is part of the fun, and it's definitely part of the ZW Jr's distinctive (and awesome) character.

I love my Z Wreck Jr. Plenty loud. I play in a Skynyrd tribute band and these guys play loud!! The Z Wreck jr. keeps up just fine. I play in a country band too and it's perfect for that. This isn't a Fender Blues Jr. by any means as far as volume. The Z Wreck Jr. rocks!!
