New to forum and anxiously awaiting delivery tomorrow of my first Dr Z amp, Carmen Ghia 1x12. I have been mainly playing through Orange AD 30 and Fender DRRI. 2 American Teles and 2 American Strats as main guitars. I usually only use a Wampler Pinnacle and a Keeley modded Sparkle Drive for pedals. I am a hobby player and wonder what other overdrive pedals people like through their Ghias. Thanks for the input.

Welcome to the Forum! A lot of great people and information here. Great first choice of a Dr. Z amp! The Xotic BB plays nice with it as does a Tube Screamer.

Thought you might be interested in some history on the Ghia.

Another thumbs up for the Xotic BB. I’m also enjoying a Timmy, or Barber Gain Changer as well.

Welcome to the forum.
The best accessory to your Ghia is your guitar's volume and tone knob. Set the amp's volume knob a little hot and use the guitar's volume knob to clean up the tone, or explore all those in-between tones. Since the Ghia doesn't have a treble or presence knob, you may find you may need to turn your guitar's tone knob down just a bit. To some, the amp can be a little bright depending on their ears and speaker being used. If it's too bright, use the guitar tone knob. (you know, that knob you never touch!)
Also, one more essential accessory: your hands. That's where the tone comes from.

Congrats! The Ghia is a great amp. Get a brake-lite and just crank that Ghia up! It has great overdrive and feel and will clean up by turning your guitar volume down.

Another thumbs up for the Xotic BB. I’m also enjoying a Timmy, or Barber Gain Changer as well. I concur with both of these. Nothing wrong with using an attenuator AND an overdrive pedal at the same time. In fact, I recommend it!
