I haven't found any comparisons on these two yet. I have a Z-Lux and love it, but I'm intrigued by the Nova. Plus it's 10 pounds lighter. What are the tonal differences between the Nova and the Z-Lux? The crunch tone in Lance Keltner's demo is perfect. Wondering if I can get close to the same thing with the Z-Lux.

Welcome to Z Talk.
Quick and overly simplified view is Z-Lux more in blackface zone and Nova more in tweed zone. There's also a feel difference, perhaps due partially to the difference in rectifiers.
I'll try to do a side-by-side listen, but it may take me a week or two to get to it.

Thanks, Doctorice. I'll be interested in the results of your side by side listen when you get to it.
I've been interested in something tweedish for awhile. Got the Z-Lux for its headroom and gorgeous clean tone, but most of the time I like a bit of dirt in the mix. Not a problem getting a good crunch out of the Z-Lux, but wondering if I'd like the character of the Nova better for that, or if a pedal might get me close.
