been looking at these pedals online and super curious but also hesitant over the price in the low $300's.

well, just dropped my dime on this pedal. Found a store model on Reverb for $300 incl shipping and the $50 "Wet" accessory pedal. That's $100 off list. I will post a video once I have it in hand. Think it's gonna serve me nicely both at home and live.

I have one and like it a lot. It lands in the category of a pedal without a song for me, but it does inspire ideas about textures and experimentation with it for solos. Probably a very nice pedal for guitar intros and outros.
I’m impressed with the quality of the unit and also have one of their Plasma pedals (which is similarly in search of a song, but I may have found one for it- maybe both in the same song.)
Take this with a grain of salt, as I mostly play without pedals.

The guy I bought it from is a guitarist out of Philly, Jake Morelli. He's been super nice and easy to work with... and he made sure i had a power supply for it or he was going to throw one in for free just so i could be up and running when i get it.
stand by...

Ian, just watched the video and I'm really looking forward to your thoughts about it. What a cool idea, it really opens up lots of creative windows. I bet David Gilmour would have a blast with one of these. It's really a compelling sound.

This appears to be such a VERY cool idea for an effect pedal. HOWEVER, I'm afraid that using it would go right over the heads of most of the audience. They are not going to appreciate that you are doing this solo. There are so many devices these days that artificially generate background accompaniment, harmonization and such. I think what is needed is to showcase the sounds of the device instead of using IT for the background. I would still love to be able to play with one for a while.

The pedal showed up on Saturday and i've played with it a bit but i'm uncertain if i'll be able to manipulate it effectively live. It was intuitive and easy to get up and running but the controls are sensitive and there's a lot of tweaking you can do to change the behavior of the pedal. One way to expand the sound capabilities is to use time/modulation pedals in the effects loop but i've yet to do this. The build quality is top notch... the brass pedal feels exactly like the sustain pedal on a real piano. will hopefully get some samples recorded soon.

Hey Ian, cool pedal for sure. I had a bass player that played thru a pedal similar to this live at a couple shows but he would let it sustain when ending the song and made us sound sloppy. I noticed this while watching a video recording of us before I figured out why something was off - to me anyway. lol

One of these just popped up on Craigslist about 10 miles from me. The guy wants $260 and it includes the Wet pedal. Discipline now. I must remember that I am downsizing.

This guy does a nice demo of the basics (though he doesn't get into using the effects loop) and he's got a cool channel as well with lots of good videos.

I just bought this 3-in-1 pedal for $65 to put into the effects loop for more tonal variety.

I just bought this 3-in-1 pedal for $65 to put into the effects loop for more tonal variety. Well, here's my thoughts on the Donner pedal... 1) Why did i do that??
2) Well, at least I'm only out $65. 3) Might be worth keeping to take to the rare jam. 4) The high gain overdrive is horribly noisy.
One thing i'm trying to understand is, when i have the Donner in the effects loop of the Gamechanger, I can hear the overdrive bleeding thru even when the Gamechanger (with true bypass) in disengaged. That seems to be a fault of the Gamechanger but I don't have much experience with effect loops and I haven't had time to investigate.

Agree that it sounds like the Gamechanger's problem; it should isolate any input from it's loop when disengaged.
I want to thank you for saving me $65. I listened to some clips and almost went for it. It seemed to sound pretty good with the drive turned down, at least what I could tell from the clips. I checked out the low gain version of the pedal and the overdrive sounded like crap on it.
Can you return it?

Last May (a whole year ago) this Gamechanger pedal died on me, giving off a heavy odor of burning circuit board. i sent the pedal back to Latvia via DHL last June and after several emails requesting an update, i heard today that they just sent me a brand new pedal and a free t-shirt for my troubles. Excited to get this pedal back and i will have to finally make a demo.
