I’m considering a Maz jr, and have a couple questions.. the amp in question is from 01/18, so I’m gathering that this is a mk2? I compared it to an older version, and the master volume was clearly a different beast. There was no mkii symbol on the back, so hence my question. Thanks!

My Maz 18 was made 1/18 and it has a MKII sticker.

I looked around on the Z website and I didn't see any date on when the MKII officially went into production. But having had an original 18NR that was modded to MKII specs, the fact that you notice a big difference in the Master Volume of the two amps is a very good sign that it is a MKII. Perhaps Doc could let us know when the MKII went into production. Apologies if it's already old news...my gut is telling me that it was sometime last year.

I looked all over as well, and couldn’t find the right info. I did read somewhere that if it doesn’t have the symbol, then it’s not a mkII. Amazing tones none the less, and like I said, a very different amp than the other.

I have a similar question as I am close to purchasing what is supposed to be a MkII maz 18 but it does not have any MKII symbol on the back of the chassis. Build date is 10/17 (Oct 2017). It has the MAZ footswitch with the control (pot) on the side. I've attached a shot of the chassis. Is this a MKII ?

Contact Don in repairs he has the most up to date list of S/N's that were updated. The earlier ones did not have the MKII sticker as I didn't yet get them from the printer. Z

Contacted Don...
The amp does not have all the updates to qualify as a full MkII.
It lacks the updates to the effect loop that address signal loss and improve clarity of delay/reverb tails.
I waiting to find out if this update can be retrofitted without having to ship the amp back to the USA.
