I know this topic is EVERYWHERE but I can't find a straight and simple answer.
I wanna know if I can safely run my Mesa Boogie Mark II into my Orange 2x12. The Boogie has only 8 ohm outs and the Orange cab is 16 ohms.

I actually like running that kind of mismatch with Fender amps. It causes a little more compression. Not so much with my Z's. I run them the way originally intended.

So I can plug my old 1973 Bassman 50 into an 8 ohm cabinet and I don’t have to lug around my 4 ohm 2-15 Bassman cabinet? Yes!

I actually like running that kind of mismatch with Fender amps. It causes a little more compression. Not so much with my Z's. I run them the way originally intended. I have a 16 ohm Celestion G12H30 Anniversary in my 1967 Deluxe Reverb. Sounds great, doesn't break a sweat.

Ask Mesa for the definitive answer, but the answer was yes with my lonestar classic. Even preferred if I was running the amp at half power.
