New Celestion Gold day!! Thanks to a fellow Canuck here on Z talk (Jimiata), I have a new to me Gold for my Maz Jr! Looking forward to having a go with it...I just had 5 mins to mess around and yes, I can already hear a difference and I like it. I ran my tele straight in for the initial run and immediately noticed a lot warmer tone and more bottom end. I had a Tone Tubby 40/40 in there before. It was nice but I just found it lacking something all these years. Perhaps I have found the missing piece with the Gold. We'll see. Need to try it at gig volume and with my pedals...then I'll be able to really tell if this is indeed the answer I have been looking for.

It looks nice. I've never played through a real one, but recently purchased some Celestion Impulse Responses where I could pick off my amp's output and run into my PC. The Gold had a nice sound, but what made it stand out a bit was what I can only describe as 'complexity' on the mids and upper end. Enjoy it!

I’ve only used a Blue, but the Gold should sound great in your Maz!

juat cranked it up,with my OD pedals in front....WOW! Great balance of bottom, mid and top end. I’m super happy! I’m no good at reviews or putting it into words but it’s got what I need!

I was most impressed by the renewed clarity and top end I was hearing. Previously, I had battled with a 2x10 configuration and a g12m-65 Creamback in the neck pick ups/middle positions. Way too dark and muddy for the Db4. The Gold cured all of that! 😁

There's a chime that I didn't have before with the ceramic Tone Tubby.

Gold is a great speaker. I did like the blue a bit more in the maz jr, but it was a small difference. The creamback 65 is also a fun one.
Now that I’ve typed all that, I’m starting to think it’s the maz that sounds good, lol

I've got a couple of golds and one of them just made the rotation into my Maz 18NRII. It's going to stay for a while, sounds great!

That was the speaker I liked most when I had a Maz.
