I have a 1966 ES 335 that originally came with a Varitone switch. Unfortunately, someone along the way removed it and plugged where dial was. I'm looking for someone to restore it to original condition. Any suggestions? I'd prefer not to ship it (I live in S.E. Mich) but will if I have to.
Thanks!

Hmm... did you check Elderly up in Lansing? If not there, might want to call Mike Koontz in Ferndale. I've got his contact info if you can't find it.

Mike: I'd second Elderly up your way. I should add that unless you are making it "correct" just because, I wouldn't bother with it. In my experience with them, the only setting that sounds good is the one with it out of the circuit. They also tend to oxidize so you get pops and crackles as you go through the settings. You have to regularly "exercise" them to keep that from happening. As you probably know, it likely won't be cheap since they have to work in an f hole guitar.

Mike: Look at what I added to my reply above. You beat me by a minute.
