...please click on the video itself, goes fullscreen with audio. When I do that it says "video not found" It works for me. Yep, that's tube rattle. Do you have any backup tubes to try?

That sounds like my Z-Lux did with rattly output tubes.
A couple of years ago I went through the same thing with output tube rattle. I bought a new set and had the same trouble. So I switched over to a quad of medium grade Tung Sol 5881 RI tubes, and no rattles, played it for quite a while with those. They're a little more 'Fender' like in tone, and a little more power. Then last summer I bought another quad of JJ6V6s for backup tubes for my Cure, and out of curiosity I put them in my Z-Lux. No rattles, they sounded great, and so I left them in and haven't had a problem since. Lots of happy hours on that amp and tube set.
Tube quality control is a big problem. It'll make you crazy (talking about myself here...)!
I think JJ has it together again as far as the 6V6, I sure hope so. Order a new quad and you should be good to go.

Tube quality really is very poor these days. No guarantee that a new set of tubes is a good set of tubes. I know Doc is continually searching for high quality manufacturers and does switch back and forth when he sees a trend in tube quality.

I went through a few sets of JJ's that all rattled but the newer ones do seem to be a bit better. Not perfect but it's no longer driving me crazy. ;-)
The 5881 definitely did not rattle but I much prefer the sound of the JJ 6v6's

There are several threads about the rattling output tubes, use your search function. Here's one where Doc talks about 5881 tubes vs. 6V6 tubes: 5881 TubesI prefer the sound of the amp with 6V6 tubes. I have gotten good results with the last 8 JJ6V6 tubes I've purchased, so maybe they are doing better. Recently I've bought about 20 ECC83S tubes by JJ too, and lately they have all been fine. I usually buy from Tube Depot or The Tube Store. I hope this information helps you. There's nothing like a Z-Lux that has good tubes in it. Like we've said, tubes are a gamble today, and now and then you get a bad one or two. But that's the price we pay for great tone, so buckle your seat belt and enjoy the ride!

Mine was making the same noise, and replacing the tubes fixed it. I used Tung Sols

I used the 6V6, and they sound great but next time I am going to go with 5881 just because Doc recommends them.
