I was wondering, with the Maz 8 being gone now, If there was any way of having the Maz 18 fill in with a half/full power switch? Is that something that is even technically possible?
The Maz 8 was definitely a shortlist amp for me. 'Course, now there's the Cure and the Z-plus...

Other than attenuating the amp, there's no way to cut the power in half unless the amp was re-designed. Usually half power switches disable two of the four output tubes in the circuit, and since the 18 is a push pull amp with only two output tubes, that method of cutting power isn't feasible. The only way I could think of to do it would be to reduce the voltage to the output section, somewhat like the variable voltage method, and I'm afraid that's going to change the tone and response of the amp. The Maz 8 is a single ended amp, using one output tube, and the output transformer is entirely different. Making an amp with dual output sections (single ended or push-pull) could be done but it would be expensive, heavy, and difficult to pull off well. You'd have two different output transformers, and a different set of associated components to make it happen; it's not an option. The Cure is a great option, or wait for a Maz 8 to come up on the used market. I was sorry to see the Maz 8 go, but I've got mine and it's going nowhere unless I'm with it.

I was planning to take my Z’s with me to the Great Hereafter as well, but (a) I’d need a triple wide coffin, and (b) my son would dig me up to get the amps.
